‘Give Away Code’ starts
Today I finally start the “give away code” section on this blog. During development of Searchlight. I faced a lot of minor and major problems. For some of them there were solutions in forums and wikis.
By all means it took time to solve these problems. As a contribution to the community I decided to give away this code. Chances are high that other people are having the same problems as I had. I also hope that people are giving me feedback about the code to be able to learn.
Giving away code is more than publishing some source file on the web. I want to put this code snippets in sample projects to make it easy to play with it. This takes time and therefore I cannot guarantee when I publish the next snippet.
Topics that will be adressed are (in no particular order):
- NSTask glitches
- Open Directory and User authentication
- Spotlight API
- File Permissions
- Ruby and Cocoa Bridge
- and more
You can download the source code from the Source Code page.
