A lot of things can happen when you miss to communicate important things.

The most obvious effect in software development is that you may introduce BUGS.

That happened lately with the new version of Quicktime 7.1.3. Apple, for whatever reason, turned off support for playing Flash content with Quicktime.

The problem is, they forgot to tell developers about that fact and it seems that they even missed to communicate that fact internally.

Therefore if you miss that animated alarm clock in your iCal reminders just go to the Quicktime Preferences in System Preferences and Enable Flash.

Things are pretty complicated and connected nowadays….

The descriptions for most of the WWDC sessions are online since a couple of weeks. The calendar has a lot of slots called “Session to be announced” of course. This slots will get their title right after the keynote.

Today I took some time to make my preliminary schedule. When I checked out the sessions and the empty slots I thought about what could be extracted from that information.

So here are my - most speculative - results.

I fell in love with Markdown.

Markdown is a text-to-HTML conversion tool for web writers. Markdown allows you to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, then convert it to structurally valid XHTML (or HTML).

With Markdown I do not have to care about encodings and well formatted HTML that much. It’s all about concentrating on the content. (more…)

It has been very quiet here over the last few weeks. Besides some comments I haven’t taken time for the blog. New and old things needed much of my attention. I’ll try to change this to keep this blog more constantly running.
